Flexibility
Each individual panel of Omnia permanent formwork is designed to include the most efficient amount of lattice and reinforcement to cope with the loading at that specific part of the structure.
Reinforcement
The diameter and spacing of the reinforcing bars is determined from calculations carried out by our in-house design team.
Each panel is reinforced with sufficient bars throughout its width and the adjacent panels reinforced only according to their needs, ensuring the most cost effective arrangement of strong panels.
Our manufacturing unit in Washington uses high yield steel in bars of diameters 8mm through to 14mm which are pulled from coils, straightened and cut to length. Bars of 16mm and over can be used but with T14 @ 50mm c/c giving 3,079mm²/m there is rarely any need for increasing the diameter of bar.
Panel and Slab Depths
The panels are manufactured by pouring concrete to the required depth, into preformed shapes on a 50m long steel mould which is itself 75mm deep. Therefore the maximum depth of panel that can be provided is 75mm, however the usual depths are 50mm and 60mm.

Cover
The ability of the floor to withstand degrees of fire and exposure is related to the amount of cover to the reinforcement cast within the panel. and by increasing the cover to the soffit, the various requirements of fire and exposure can be catered for as follows:
